Numbers taking part in Gwent League races. Novices up to U15 numbers are good. From U17 to U20 numbers fall back. There are many reasons for this, education, exams, going to University College away from Cardiff including abroad, other team sports, social, loss of interest etc. These example affect other sports too. Numbers increase due to Masters age groups and the popularity of road running. Many small running clubs have emerged in Cardiff over the last 10 years, providing a social and  healthy environment for people. Our club has started similar group on club nights, starting at 6.45pm, led by Dan Nash.
