Cross Country starts Tuesday 28 September 2010

As the Commonwealth Games come to an end in the heat of Delhi, back home another cross country season will get under way. The first of this year's Gwent League series will be held in Bridgend in just over a week's time, on Sunday, 10th October. Cross country is an important part of the athletics season and Cardiff has traditionally done well in the Gwent League, especially in the younger age groups.

Welsh Awards for Cardiff Sunday 19 September 2010

Cardiff AAC picked up eight of the top awards presented at the Welsh Athletics annual dinner held last night, 18th September, at Cardiff's Angel Hotel. The club itself was Welsh Club of the Year following the great successes of its teams and three distinguished former members were inducted into the Welsh Athletics Hall of Fame. Presentation Evening Wednesday 15 September 2010

The club's annual presentation of awards evening was held last Sunday, 12th September, and more than 150 athletes, parents and friends were able to celebrate one of Cardiff's most successful seasons for many years. Presenting the awards were special guests Rhys Williams, James Thie, Emma Peters, Leila James and John Penny, Welsh Athletics President.

10k title for Mike Johnson Sunday 12 September 2010

On a perfect day in Cardiff's city centre this morning, 12 September, just under 3000 runners set off for the 25th running of the HSBC Cardiff 10k road race. Cardiff's Michael Johnson (pictured after receiving his winner's medal from Welsh Athletics President John Penny) clinched his second Welsh title in a month, finishing in a personal best time for the 10k distance of 29:50.

The club's 2010 annual presentation evening and disco will be held on Sunday next 12 September from 6.30 to 10.00pm. This annual event is a marvellous opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the past season both for the teams and the individuals who have performed well.

Johnson bidding for title Friday 3 September 2010

Mike Johnson & Tom Marshall

Cardiff's in-form Michael Johnson will be chasing his second Welsh road title on Sunday 12th September in the Cardiff 10k which doubles as the Welsh Championship. Mike (pictured in last year's race wearing No. 0003 with team mate Tom Marshall wearing 0005) took the 5k title in Swansea on 22nd August when he also led Cardiff to the team title.
