Welsh Junior League

Monday 1 May 2017

The opening round of the 2017 season for the Welsh Junior league saw the Cardiff team travel to Hereford where, in cold and windy (but, thankfully, dry) conditions, with the lead switching between the two Cardiff clubs through the day, Cardiff AAC ended in second place with 1262 points, behind Cardiff Archers on 1423.

The Cardiff team was again depleted, especially in the under 11 and under 13 age groups but a strong performance by the under 15s made the difference.

The conditions were poor and it is all credit to those athletes, as well as the team managers and parents, who turned out for the team.

The final team scores were:

1. Cardiff Archers (1,423 points)
2. Cardiff AAC (1,262)
3. Rhymney Valley AC (836)
4. Newport H (809)
5. Blaenau Gwent AC (713)
6. Cwmbran H (651)
7. Hereford & County AC (632)
8. Rhondda AC (280)
9. Aberdare VAAC (182)
