James and James win

Cardiff's two James (Hunt and Vincent) led the fields home in their respective races at the third round of the Gwent Cross Country League, held at Pembrey Country Park on Sunday last, 3rd December.

James Hunt was a clear winner, by nearly half a minute, of the senior men's race while James Vincent won the under 20 race by a similar margin. James Hunt was also the winner of the under 23 category.

Ciaran Lewis was 5th in the senior men's race, first in the universities category and 4th under 23. A third James (Thie) was second of the over 35 masters as well as 12th senior man.

The best performing senior lady was Clara Evans in 5th with Liz Davies 33rd.

Other Cardiff AAC performances included:

Under 17 men: Morgan G James (16th).
Under 15 boys: Iwan Smith (22nd).
Under 13 boys: Ben Macey (4th and third in the overall standings after three rounds); Elis Finlayson (6th and 6th overall); Ben Farrell (13th).
Under 11 boys: Tom Sturdy (43rd).

Under 20 women: Seren Allin (5th); Rhian Jones (8th and 2nd overall).
Under 17 women; Sioned Wallwork (8th); Elin Williams (11th); Anwen Gammon (12th); Caitlin Chapman (13th).
Under 15 girls: Megan Friedli (20th); Bethany Gold (21st).
Under 13 girls: Jemima Robinson (9th and third overall).
Under 11 girls: Alice Davies (9th and 5th overall); Millie Gold (23rd and 10th overall).

Cardiff's positions in the team standings after three rounds are:

Under 11: Girls (4th); Boys (8th)
Under 13: Girls (9th); Boys (1st)
Under 15: Girls (4th); Boys (11th)
Under 17: Girls (1st); Boys (3rd)
Under 20: Women (1st); Men (1st)
Senior: Women (16th); Men (16th)
