Hot stuff

Sunday 18 June 2017

On perhaps the hottest day of the summer so far,Cardiff's road runners were on hot form in today's Caerphilly 10k, taking second, third and fourth places in the senior men's open race and first and third in the ladies' race.

With Carwyn Jones second, Dan Nash a close third and James Hunt fourth, this was a good warm up for the trio's half marathon in Stuttgart next weekend.

In the ladies' race, Clara Evans was a clear winner with Carys Hughes third while, in the junior men's event, Iestyn Edwards was second and James Gold seventh.

Carwyn, Dan and James will be joined by Matt Clowes in Stuttgart, which is Cardiff's twin city, and they will represent both Cardiff AAC and the City of Cardiff. Carwyn will be defending the title that he won last year.
