British ID Championships

Following Britiah Athletics Indoor Championships held in Birmingham on the 9th February, 2 of Cardiff's 3 medalists have been selected for the Great Britain team taking part in the European Championships, held in Glasgow from 1st to 3rd March. Joseph Reid 800m Gold medal in Birmingham, following the disqualification of Jamie Webb, for illegally cutting in front of Guy Learmonth, going into the last lap. Though the first 3 finishers in 800m have been selected for the GB team in Glasgow. Owen Smith 400m had a fine 2nd place in the 400m final in Birmingham. Joseph and Owen (are coached by Matt Elias). A massive break through was recorded in the 60m final (his 3rd race on day) by Jeremiah Azu, (coached by Helen James) who at 17yrs finished 3rd in SM final, with 6.66.

A week later Jeremiah took park in the Muller Grand Prix in Birmingham held on the 16th February. In his heat race he lowered his 60m time to 6.65. Jermiah made the final, finished 7th in an international class senior mens final.

Jeremiah has improved his 2018 60m pb 6.76, by a very large margin, breaking the Welsh record for 60m, top of UK U20 ranking list, and equal 6th in UK senior mens ranking list.

Jeremiah has a very bright future ahead in British Athletics sprinting.

As our club records for 2018 are currently being printed, we already now have a new club record for 2019.
